though i haven't posted lately.. i'm feeling the need to blog out my issue at the moment. i'm really in a crunch to find a dress soon and seeing as it is tax free weekend this weekend i'd love to do it then. however, i've been looking at dresses online to go try on this weekend and i've found one i really really love. sounds good right? wrong. out of every retailer in SC none of them sell the dress here. i wish i could leave it at that and say well it wasn't meant to be but i'm a go getter and i want to try this dress on. it's rustic with suttle details, very different from many other dresses and best of all it's in my price range!!! what to do? do i let the dress go or do i pursue my desires and find some place that sells it?
p.s we're buying a software program that will hopefully allow us to make our own invitations so that will be the next thing on our list. stay tuned!
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 1 Corinthians 13: 4-7

feeling crafty!!
With Jason out of town I was left with very little to do. So today I felt like being crafty. I thought of a bridesmaid gift and figured I was NOT, i repeat NOT, going to spend what they wanted for it in the store because I COULD DO IT MYSELF! So my mom and I set out for Michael's. We picked up what we needed and headed home to give it a try... AND.. well i wish i could post pictures but i know some of the girls read this so.. I CAN'T! But they are adorable, maybe i'm a little biased. But let's just say i will end up spending $13 (and yes, that's total for everything for all 5 girls) on something that would have costed me $150!!! hoooray for great deals and being semi-crafty! I just hope the girls will like them. So far everything I've gotten them I've gotten on sale... saving me almost $100 on the other items!
On another note, we're getting closer to being in the 200's which is very very exciting for me!
AND!!! They are going to start construction on our house within the next two weeks!!
So I'm going to be sitting around maybe watching P.S I love you..(maybe not because I'm extremely emotional about not being able to see Jas for another 7-8 day).. and thinking of other crafty ways to save!

The House!!
I haven't really blogged about the house so since ya brought it up i figured what better of a time? we're building a new house in the preserve at charleston park! we will be the proud owners by november (Hopefully!) we are down sizing quite a bit.. but it's our first house so it'll have to do... 1134 square feet to be exact! 3 bedrooms 2 baths. complete with a garage and a Teny Tiny back yard! We've been extremely blessed! we've recieved a couch from a sweet couple at church and a tv and tv stand from someone else. my mom has bought us coffee tables and jason has a computer desk for our computer room. so that leaves us with needing a kitchen table, bedroom furniture for 2 rooms (because we're hoping to get new furniture and not re-use the ones we have).
our ideas:
we will be painting the living room tan
our bedroom a teal'ish blue
the guest bedroom green on top and white on the bottom
and the computer room will be gray with black and white photos in it. we're also planning on putting old signs in there to rough it up a little.
as of right now this is what our house looks like:
we are soo excited that they will be laying the foundation shortly and then the next step is the put up the walls!!
mor pictures of the progress to come!
So there's your look at the future home of the NEW Chinnis family! Enjoy!!

happy blogging...
328 days!!
i'm so ready to be married.. ughh it's crazy how many people have told/questioned me on why i'm getting married right now... but then there have been alot of women who have told me they got married at my age and it was so worth it! granted i know life was different back then but i know this is the right choice for us so i can only pray that we find it equally as worth it.
our house is making progress and we couldn't be more excited!! i'll post pictures later! have i mentioned how excited i am to start decorating our little space?? i'm a little nervous about my decorating style.. who knows how it will turn out?! but it will be fun :)
no new wedding plans to tell you about! i'm really interested to know what y'all want to know about? what am i kidding.. i don't even know if anyone reads this silly blog other than me and jason(rarely!) but if you do tell us about yourself (even if we know you drop us a line!) and what you'd like to know about.. i'll get the clue if no one responds..LOL!
Enjoy! Have a safe and happy 4th of July!

the lone ranger!
A few thoughts.
Jason has been out of town for a few days at camp with the youth from church. I've been able to talk to him a few times but it's been slim pickin's. I've realized SO much how I rely on him to get me through my week. I love talking to him and since I haven't been able to I've learned how much I value conversation with him. He is totally the love of my life. I keep thinking about what he's doing and worrying about him.. i almost feel like a mom. I worry that he isn't getting enough sleep, that he's not eating enough, that he's being safe.. I just love him and want the best for him. I want him to be fulfilled and satisfied and happy whether with me or not. How silly I know!
I've also been thinking about the house we're building and how I can't wait for us to have people over and show them the house we've built both spiritually and physically.
More than anything I can't wait to be a wife. I cannot wait to spend every day with him. I can't wait to share in our struggles and our successes. I can't wait to see him when I wake and when I'm about to go to sleep. I can't wait to care for him and have him there for me at all times. I can't wait to come home to him and see his smiling face.*though i know most times i come home grumpy.. he has this way of making everything okay. I can't wait to sit next to him at church and see him with the youth. I can't wait to see him graduate and become a youth minister. (He is going to make an AWESOME!! youth minister)
Oh how I can't wait to be married. I just miss him and I'm ready for him to be home. He is so encouraging and loves me for me. Man, I'm blessed and so thankful for this man God has made to be MY husband!!

slow-n-steady
Slow-n-steady is the only way to describe how things around here are going. We've been stuck in the 350's for longer than it actually has been. But we've been getting some things done I'd like to say...
We met with a photographer on Tuesday!! We loved him. He was really funny and definitely has some great thoughts for our venue. I had to laugh because we were telling him how unphotogenic we are and he told Jason.."Hey man, in a non homosexual way.. YOU ARE CUTE!" I could not help but laugh. And then Jas was like "yeah, Jen you're cute too!" and the photographer was like "You're gorgeous!" It was funny..but maybe you might have just had to be there. So we are going to book with him next week hopefully. They are Tillman Branch Photography and I really can't begin to tell you how much we really liked them and KNOW our wedding and pictures will turn out AWESOME because of their special touch!! So exciting.
I'm hoping to meet with a DJ next week. I'd also like to meet with a florist business to see what they have to offer. I'm also hoping that we can start getting some of my bridesmaids in to see the dresses and the colors we've picked out. We're trying to find a rehearsal location and I'm sooooo pulling for the Charleston dinner cruise but we'll see. And I'm waiting on word from the woman we were suppose to be ordering invitations from.
Other than that life is life. OHHH wait?? How could I forget the exciting news that we bought a lot for our house! We went on Monday and finalized all of the design plans and now we are waiting for the word GO and they'll start putting up the house!! It should be done by November which means I'll have like 6 months there all by my lonesome... not really happy about that but I'll do okay (i hope). So we've been pretty busy.
Thanks for checking in and hope you enjoyed!

361
Hey Y'all!! I feel the need to post because I'm oh so excited about the fact that we are getting things checked off our wedding list!!
My mom and I went shopping for bridesmaid dresses on Saturday (which went GREAT!!) and we found some that we loved. This means we've picked out the colors... which then means we can start finding linens, flowers, decorations, invitations, and the cake design. We are pretty sure we're ordering our BM dresses from LulaKate in Charleston. However, they are a bit expensive because they are designed here in Charleston.. so I'm hoping everyone is okay with it and then we'll get the ball rolling!!
A designer at LulaKate is most likely also going to be designing my dress which I'm so excited about. She is going to be taking bits and pieces from 3 different dresses that I like and combining them to make the perfect dress for LESS than the original designers. We're still trying to wrinkle out of the facts and make sure it's do-able for our budget but it seems like everything is falling into place.
We are 361 days away and I'm so excited. I have a feeling the next 11 months are going to be crazy busy with school and everything but I am more happy than ever about this wedding and the planning.
